You say "witch" and you think Halloween

But a witch isn't green and can't ride a broom

In truth, witches are people just like you

And we won't let your hate spell our doom.

~Pagan Pride,Live it,breathe it,be it.~
On this one, I just let loose a bit of my anger at people's many misconceptions of my religion. I am, in fact, pagan, and everyone seems 6to think that I give a crap about what they think of my religion-I don't. As soon as they get that through their thick skulls, I might be a little less of an angry person. But for now, tha anger stays.Maybe they'll understand someday.....

I too use to be angered by the riding broom witch when I was younger. Then I learned where the myth started, and now it just makes me laugh. Technically it was a ritual act that is still preformed in some Pagan circles today. It started with midwives (it's never stated if they were in fact witches, or just the towns doctors of the day) using a very potent herbal salve that often gave the illusion and feeling of flight. It often came with illusions/prophecies and even astral projection. The broom part comes in because the best way to admit this salve was vaginally, and it was often put on the broom end and then inserted..."broom riding" was born. I kid you not.

Still, it's good to vent your angers sometimes too, so this is a very good poem for that. :D
